Dog Shedding Blade
While the dog shedding brush is a useful tool to prevent dog shedding, the more recent item to be introduced, the dog shedding blade, provides a quicker and more economical method to reduce dog shedding.

Dog Shedding Blade
The dog shedding blade is the modern equivalent to prevent dog shedding. Initially, a regular dog shedding brush would be used for a dog’s coat but this new tool has now become the norm for pet owners. The dog shedding blade was previously used for horses, sheep and goats to reduce shedding and tangles among these animals. Every time a dog is on the verge of shedding its coat, the dog shedding blade becomes the answer to effectively remove dead hair before they shed, creating lesser mess. The tool takes off any hair on the verge of shedding, and the dog’s hair is left looking neat, shiny and glossy. The blade is usually constructed of a bent piece of metal in a U shape, inserted into a handle. It operates by having one of its sides full of blunted jagged edges which catch and take off excess hair. The blade can be used for either small or large areas and the handle adjusted accordingly to accommodate the needs of the owner.
The blade is recommended by many since it becomes useful in keeping an owner’s house free from excess and unwanted hair that is usually littered around, especially during shedding season. The price of the shedding blade may be slightly expensive since it is only a recent addition to the market. Therefore, to be cost effective, pet stores have started socking blades that have plastic instead of leather handles. A few aspects should be kept in mind when using the shedding blade. It is important to keep watch on the dog’s skin, so as to not cause any discomfort while using the blade.
