Diamond Cut-Off Wheel Technology Explained
The diamond cut-off wheel is an improvement over the regular cut-off wheel. They make use of small diamonds embedded in the cutting edge of this grinding wheel. This gives it an advantage over other conventional grinding equipment, and is highly valued throughout the industry.
While prized as jewelry, diamonds are in truth, no more than crystallized carbon excavated from within the earth. In a diamond, the carbon atoms form a crystal lattice that creates bonds that are virtually unbreakable, giving it hardness like no other. As the hardest substance known to man, they have become essential in the work of advanced industrial machines. Drills, cutting edges, semiconductors and other applications all need the diamond’s unique traits.
With the addition of diamond, cut-off wheel machines become that much more efficient in their work. Cut-off or parting wheel tools are thinner than the average grinding wheel, and are designed to be self-sharpening. The slimmer design is perfect for cutting items that need quick removal or trimming, such as reinforcement steel, protruding bolts, and more. They can also be applied like conventional wheel cutting devices, perfect for cleaving through stubborn items like heavy metal objects that other machines cannot cut through.
