IPhone charger broken. can I get electrocuted?
I have an older iPhone charger. The plastic coating at the end of the chord, the piece that inserts into the iPhone, has completely come off. It’s just pure metal. My parents are still using the charger, it works. Could one get electrocuted from this?
There is a transformer at the plug changing the voltage from 230/110v ac to 5-30v dc, this is not enough voltage to hurt you, however if the cable now has bare cable showing, and shorts positive to negative/earth the transformer may become damaged and may be a fire hazard.
